How to Apply
Criteria:
San Jose Highly Gifted Magnet Center is one of only two elementary school magnet programs within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) that serves the needs of highly gifted students. To be admitted into the program, students must score a minimum of 99.5 on an intellectual assessment administered by an LAUSD GATE psychologist. For your child to be referred for an IQ Test, you must do the following:
- Submit a written letter of request to have your child's IQ tested at your current school.
- Sign a Parental Consent Form for the IQ Test
- Wait until you are notified of the upcoming IQ Test, which could take 2-4 months from submitting your IQ referral to the district.
Choices:
The on-time Choices window opens on October 1st and closes on November 14th. Your child must be highly gifted or highly gifted applicable at the time of applying; otherwise, he or she will be declined.
